INDIANAPOLIS – Wright State sophomore Eric Lynch, UIC senior Tess Ehrhardt and Oakland senior Taylor Humm have been named the Horizon League’s Scholar-Athletes of the Month for November.

As a biological sciences major, Lynch carries a 3.46 GPA and has been named to both the Horizon League and Wright State Honor Rolls.

Lynch had a standout season for the Raiders as a member of the men’s soccer team in which he garnered several accolades including Horizon League Player of the Year, Horizon League Offensive Player of the Year and First Team All-League. In addition to his conference honors, Lynch was also a member of the Second Team All-Great Lakes Region. During the League Championship, the sophomore tabbed All-Tournament Team nods as he scored a goal against Milwaukee in the Quarterfinal round and a goal and assist versus Detroit in the Semifinal. The sophomore was at the top of the Division I in assists and led Wright State to the Championship match and most wins (12) overall since 2001.

Ehrhardt holds a 3.56 GPA at UIC as a movement sciences major. The senior is a three-time UIC Honor Roll recipient and a two-time Horizon League Honor Roll member. This is the second time she had garnered Scholar-Athlete of the Month accolades, with the first in October of 2013.

During the month of November, Ehrhardt placed first at the Horizon League Cross Country Championships, winning the event in back-to-back years. She was also the Horizon League Cross Country Athlete of the Year for the second-consecutive season as well as NCAA All-Regional honors. Ehrhardt placed 23rd at the NCAA Midwest Regional Meet in the middle of the month and was named team MVP at the Flames’ end of the year banquet.

As an industrial and systems engineering major, Humm carries a 3.64 GPA. Humm is the SAAC President at Oakland while also expanding her education in an internship at Chrysler. The senior was selected to the Manufacturing and Development Program (MLDP) out of over 600 applicants.

Humm led the Golden Grizzlies’ volleyball team to their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearances after capturing the Horizon League Championship and winning the League regular season. Humm was named the Horizon League Defensive Player of the Year while averaging over 5.1 digs per set the final month. The squad went 6-0 during the November while only dropping five sets the entire month.
