Panthers Post 14 Top Times At COD Invite

Warrenville, Ill. - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee cross country teams posted season-best times seemingly across the board Friday with another outstanding showing in the season's early going at the College of DuPage Invitational at the St. James Farm Forest Preserve in Warrenville, Ill.

Cross Country Concludes Action at College of DuPage Invitational

WARRENVILLE, Ill. - The UIC men's and women's cross country teams competed in the College of DuPage Invitational at the St. James Farm Forest Preserve in Warrenville, Ill. on Friday afternoon. Both squads took home first place overall.

"I was astounded how strong Tess looked today," cross country head coach Jim Knoedel said. "She had a 25-meter lead on the field at the mile and opened it up even more, finishing 40 seconds ahead of second place." Read more

The Phoenix Cross Country Teams Competed at the DuPage Invitational

WARENVILLE, Ill. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in the DuPage Invitational at the St. James Farm Forest Preserve on Friday, marking its third meet of the season. The Phoenix is right where they want to be at the midway-point of the season, recording 22 season-best times on the day. The men’s team posted a third-place finish out of the 22 teams that entered the meet while the women’s team placed sixth out of the 25 teams that participated on the women’s side.

Once again, junior Sarah Mauel (Green Bay, Wis.) led the way for the Phoenix with an impressive 7th-place finish in the women’s 5k race with a season-best time of 18:39. On Mauel’s heels was sophomore Breanna Seuss (Luxemburg, Wis.) who grabbed the 12th spot overall with another season-best time for Green Bay with 18:56. Placing third for the Phoenix was freshman Rebecca Voss (Marshfield, Wis.) with a lifetime-best of 19:13. Rounding out the top four and five for Green Bay was freshman Kimberly Hurst (Greenfield, Wis.) and senior Kayla Hucke (Hartland, Wis.) finishing 53rd and 55th, respectively. Read more
