UIC's Ehrhardt, Oakland's Stroede Tabbed Runners of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS – UIC junior Tess Ehrhardt (Geneva, Ill.) and Oakland freshman Bryce Stroede (Horton, Mich.) have been named Horizon League Indoor Track Runners of the Week for the week of February 11-17.

Ehrhardt continued her record breaking season at the Chicagoland Championships, breaking a school record for the third straight week. After setting records in the 1000m and the 5000m, Ehrhardt recorded a program best 3000m time of 9:54.74. The 2013 Horizon League Cross Country Female Athlete of the Year placed first out of 49 competitors.

Stroede recorded two, top three times in the League this season at the GVSU Big Meet, including a League best 1-mile time of 4:08.70. In the 3000m, Stroede placed fourth with a time of 8:28.02. His 3K time ranks as the third fastest in the League this season and is the best time amongst freshman.

UIC takes part in the GVSU Tune-up in Grand Rapids, Mich. on Friday while Oakland has one week off before competing at the Horizon League Indoor Track & Field Championship March 1-2 in Youngstown, Ohio.

Other Top Runners of the Week:
Ryan Blackmon, UIC (Sr., South Holland, Ill.)
- Turned in a personal best in the 400m run with a time of 49.69 at the Chicagoland Championships to finish second. Also finished seventh in the 200m dash (22.31).
Robin Hall, Youngstown State (Fr., Pittsburgh, Pa.) - Placed second at the SPIRE Invitational in the 400m with a time of 48.66, good for the second best time in the League this season.
Reed Schmidt, Milwaukee (So., Racine, Wis.) - Top collegiate finisher at the GVSU Big Meet in the 800m with a personal best time (1:53.50) that tops the Horizon League chart in the 800m. In the 1-mile, placed 23rd with a time of 4:14.51.
Austin Wigent, Detroit (So., Reading, Mich.) - Set a personal best in the 3000m at the GVSU Big Meet, recording a time of 8:32.28 to place ninth. 
Elizabeth Bloy, Valparaiso (Fr., Freedom, Wis.) - At the Purdue Invitational, placed sixth in the 800m run with a time of 2:15.63.
Karli Keur, Oakland (So., Hudsonville, Mich.) - At the GVSU Big Meet, placed first out of 57 competitors in the 1-mile with a time of 5:06.19. Her time ranks seventh best in the League this season.
Shannon Marchant, Detroit (Sr., London, Ont.) - Registered a personal best time (1:34.64) in the 400m to place second at the GVSU Big Meet. In addition, placed eighth in the 4x400m relay that set a program indoor record.
Anuli Okonkwo, Milwaukee (So., Maple Grove, Minn.) - Placed first out of 67 competitors in the 200m at the GVSU Big Meet with a time of 24.96. Her time is third best in the League this season. Also participated in the 4x400m relay that placed third.
Jen Shiley, Youngstown State (Jr., Austintown, Ohio) - Her 400m time of 56.83 at the SPIRE Invitational is the best time in the League this season. Shiley has placed in the top five in each meet this season.
