UIC's Hauser and Ehrhardt Garner #HLXC Weekly HonorsPublished by
INDIANAPOLIS -- UIC sophomore Kyle Hauser (Palos Heights, Ill.) is the Horizon League Men’s Runner of the Week, while UIC senior Tess Ehrhardt (Geneva, Ill.) is the Horizon League Women’s Runner of the Week for the week of Sept. 8-14. The UIC men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in the ISU Invite on Friday. The men took on runners from Iowa, Indiana State, North Central (Ill.), Illinois State, Loyola and DePaul. The women faced teams from Illinois, Iowa, Illinois State, Loyola, Indiana State and DePaul. Both squads placed sixth in the team results with the men tallying 164 points and the women collecting 144. Hauser was the top finisher for the Flames in the 8K race to take 18th overall in a field of 74 runners. The sophomore finished with a time of 25:09 and kept a pace of 5:04 throughout the course. Ehrhardt led UIC in the 5K race to take seventh-place against 78 fellow runners. The senior tallied a time of 17:53 in her top-ten performance while holding a pace of 3:36. The Flames will be back in action on Friday, September 26 at the College of DuPage Invitational. The race is set to begin at 5:00 ET at the St. James Farm Forest Preserve in Warrenville, Ill.
